Prime Real Estate in Your Pantry

While one of my top priorities is to help you find the home you love, it is also a top priority for me to help you love the home you’re in. Sometimes there are simple switches, upgrades, or changes that you can make to make your home work for you. Remember, your home is not a museum! It’s meant to be lived in and loved by you!

Today, let’s talk about how to make your pantry, closest, and other storage spaces work for you. I want to introduce to the idea of prime real estate when it comes to home organization. What sits in the front spot when you open a cabinet? What is within arms reach on your counter? What do you see when you open your pantry? Whatever is in that prime spot should be something that you reach for each and every day. It should not be those crystal glasses you use once a year or those obsucre pantry items that you only use for one recipe. Make your space work for YOU!

Let’s think about this in three areas of the home:

  1. Kitchen Counters

There may be no real estate as prime as kitchen counters in your home! These items are out for all to see, they’re always within arms reach, and they should be something you use daily. If you don’t use your toaster every day, put it away! Give that real estate to something you use more often.

  2. Pantry

What do you see right away when you open your pantry? This prime spots should be given to ingredients you are constantly reaching for! They should be displayed in a way that is easy for you to scan and see what you have in stock. I love organizing my prime spots with these turntables. With one quick spin, I can tell exactly what is in stock.

  3. Bathroom Drawers

Your bathroom drawers are another spot that should work for you! I love keeping only the items that I use on a daily basis in my drawers. It keeps them clean and organized. I know when I open them that I will find exactly what I need, and I won’t have to dig around. Don’t be afraid to move those products you only use occasionally to a different spot, or even through away those products that you just don’t love!
